How iWave Works

iWave mounts in the ductwork of your existing system, right after the air filter. As air flows past it, iWave releases positive and negative ions that treat the air before it reaches your rooms. It runs whenever your system’s fan runs, so the whole house benefits.

iWave FAQs

What is iWave?

iWave is an air purifier made by Nu-Calgon that mounts inside your HVAC ductwork. It uses needlepoint bipolar ionization: as air flows past it, it releases positive and negative ions that treat the air going into your home.

Does iWave produce ozone?

Nu-Calgon says the iWave-R meets UL 2998 zero ozone validation.

Does iWave need filters or maintenance?

No. The iWave-R has no replacement parts and cleans its own emitter brushes automatically, every third day by default.

Will iWave work with my system?

The iWave-R works with ducted residential systems up to 6 tons (2,400 CFM) and runs on 24 to 240 volts, so it fits most home systems. For ductless mini-splits there is the iWave-M. We will check your system before installing.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. The iWave-R carries a three-year limited warranty from Nu-Calgon. The manufacturer requires proof of installation by a licensed contractor, which we provide.

Does iWave replace my air filter?

No. iWave is installed after your return air filter and works alongside it. Keep changing your filter on schedule.
